Terms of Service & Practice Policy
Effective Date: 9 June 2025
These terms outline how counselling services are provided at SoulShine Counselling.
They are intended to support a safe, respectful, and transparent counselling relationship.
Sessions
Counselling sessions are 60 minutes and conducted online via a secure video platform.
The number and frequency of sessions will depend on your individual needs.
You have the right to choose what feels right for you, including when to begin, pause, or conclude counselling. I will work alongside you and be guided by your needs.
Intake and Informed Consent
During the first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking counselling, your goals, and how the counselling process works.
Before counselling begins, you will be asked to review and sign an informed consent form confirming that you understand the counselling process and the terms outlined in this policy.
You are welcome to ask questions at any time so you can make informed decisions about your care.
Fees and Payment Terms
The standard session fee is $135 per 60-minute session.
Payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your appointment.
Please note that Medicare rebates are not currently available, and private health insurance claims are not accepted.
Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, missed appointments, or arrivals more than 15 minutes late will be considered cancelled and the full session fee will apply.
This policy helps ensure that appointment times can be made available to others who may be waiting for support.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Counselling sessions are conducted online using a secure video platform.
I will attend sessions from a private space where others cannot hear our conversation. To protect your privacy and confidentiality, you are expected to attend sessions from a quiet and private space.
If someone enters your space during a session, you will need to inform me immediately so we can ensure your privacy is maintained.
Sessions cannot take place while you are driving.
To protect privacy and confidentiality for everyone involved, sessions must not be recorded.
Information shared during counselling is treated with care and confidentiality. There are limited circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken, such as if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or where there are legal obligations, including concerns related to child safety.
Session records are stored securely in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. For more information, please refer to the Privacy Policy on this website.
Concluding Counselling
You have the right to decide when counselling feels complete for you. This may be when your needs have been met, you feel you no longer need support, or you feel another approach or practitioner may be a better fit.
If at any stage I believe another service may better support you, I will discuss this with you and provide appropriate referrals.
Scope of Services

This service does not provide court reports, legal assessments, or medico-legal documentation.
